Ronaldo is no stranger to the classic Man United-Arsenal rivalry but he was once again started on the bench for the clash for the fourth Premier League game in a row.

United manager Erik Ten Hag instead chose their late summer acquisition Ajax in the starting lineup alongside Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho to lead the attack.

Despite starting on the bench, Ronaldo will not mind as his side came up with the goods when it mattered as Anthony got his debut goal at Old Trafford, while Rashford scored a brace to help the team to another three points.

After the game, Ronaldo, who is the most followed human on Instagram, took to social media with a brilliant message:

"Well done, lads! And a very special thank you to our supporters! Let’s go, Devils!" The 37-year old wrote.

It will certainly be a message that will delight fans as Ronaldo is now showing some passion and renewed interest in Manchester United after the close of the transfer window.

Weeks earlier, the Portuguese superstar had made his intentions to leave the club clear, with reports claiming he fancied playing for a team that was in the Champions League.

Notably, Ronaldo has featured in all six Premier League games under Ten Hag this season.
