  • La Liga champions Real Madrid have discovered a new way to improve their players' free-kick mastery
  • The Santiago Bernabeu outfit have deployed modern technology to replace human walls which are normally used at training grounds
  • Real Madrid have not had a free-kick expert ever since five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo left the club

Spanish giants Real Madrid have dropped a video of their players using new technology at their training ground to improve their players’ free-kick technique.

The Los Blancos have had a problem with free-kick taking since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos.

Ever since the trio left, the White Angels have not had a clear free-kick expert even though they had a dip in their free-kick-taking artistry at the end of their career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In a video posted on Twitter, as spotted by Sports Brief, players like Toni Kroos and Luka Modric were taking free-kicks against a mannequin wall and a goalkeeper.

The mannequins which are operated by a control panel on a tablet can be sighted jumping after the free-kicks are taken, akin to how a human wall would react in a game.

The operator can decide which particular mannequin to jump high or not.

Real Madrid have scored two free-kicks in three La Liga games this season which seem to suggest that the new technology is paying off.

Karim Benzema registered a goal from a free-kick last Sunday in Real Madrid's 3-1 away victory at Espanyol, while David Alaba also scored one against Almeria two weeks ago.

Real Madrid Star Toni Kroos Named As All Time Best Germany Midfielder Ahead of Ozil and Ballack

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Toni Kroos has been hailed as the best-ever German midfielder by Lothar Matthaus following his exploits with Real Madrid and the German national team.

Lothar Matthaus who is also considered as a German legend revealed the 32-year-old Real Madrid midfielder’s exploits rank him higher than other midfielders to have played for Germany.

According to Marca, Matthaus believes the number of titles won by Toni Kroos makes him number one ahead of the likes of Mesut Ozil and Michael Ballack.
