The Ivory Coast forward who left Ajax for Dortmund in the summer transfer window arrived unrecognisable as he begins treatment following a cancer diagnosis.
In a video posted on social media, an emotional Haller broke down in tears as he received his gong at the Eredivisie awards night.
Sebastien Haller thanked fans and well wishers for their support with the most gratitude going to his wife who was in the audience.

"To be honest I have the chance to feel okay," he said. "Those two three days in and out of hospital is not the best to be honest. I'm lucky I have good people around me," he added as he pointed at his wife.
"My physio helps me everyday to feel okay. It's not easy every day," he continued in an emotional speech.
"It can happen to anyone. Lucky it me because not everyone can go through this difficult moment. I'm surrounded by a lot of people but like I said everything is fine."
Haller was diagnosed of testicular cancer during Borussia Dortmund's pre-season and has since been receiving treatment. He joined the German giants from Ajax Amsterdam in the summer.
