As reported by ESPN, Haller left Dortmund’s training camp in Switzerland after feeling unwell.

"This news today came as a shock to Sebastien Haller and to all of us," said Dortmund’s Sporting Director, Sebastian Kehl.

Borussia Dortmund have asked for privacy for the player and his family during this time. The club will provide more information when it becomes available. It is unclear as yet whether the tumour is cancerous.

Haller joined the German side from Ajax Amsterdam and a four-year deal and was seen as a direct replacement for Erling Haaland, the Daily Mail reported.

He is yet to make a competitive appearance for Dortmund and will remain out for an indefinite period of time as he undergoes more tests and further treatment.

Borussia Dortmund is closing in on deal to sign Sebastian Haller from Ajax as Erling Haaland's replacement

Borussia Dortmund are set to complete a move for Ajax striker Sebastian Haller. Dortmund lost top striker Erling Haaland after Manchester City activated his release clause.

The German club had already signed RB Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi as a potential replacement for Haaland but it now appears that they want to add another striker.

Haller's fee will be in the region of 36 million sterling pounds. The French-born striker has been in imperious form at Ajax after joining them in 2021 from West Ham.
