Sports Brief takes a look at five of the footballers who were able to make only a single appearance for the Real Madrid first team.

Marcos Alonso

Alonso joined Barcelona from Chelsea last summer, but the ex-Blues left-back started his football career with Barcelona rivals, Real Madrid.

The 31-year-old joined the Los Blancos youth team as a kid and went on to feature for every youth side in the following years.

He earned his maiden call-up to the senior team in December 2009 as a 19-year-old, but had to wait until April 2010 to make it onto the pitch.

Alonso came on as a second-half substitute in the dying embers of the La Liga clash Racing Santander. That would be his only senior appearance for Real Madrid.

He left the Whites in 2010 to join Bolton Wanderers, playing now for EPL giants Chelsea with two Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy won.

Fabinho

The Brazilian started as a right-back at Real Madrid. He joined the club's Castilla on loan from Portuguese side, Rio Ave in 2012.

He made 30 appearances for Madrid's Castilla before he made his debut for the senior side in May 2013 against Malaga.

Fabinho came on for Portugal left-back, Fabio Coentrao and featured for only 14 minutes in a 6-2 victory. That remains his only senior appearance for Los Blancos.

Fabinho left the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to sign for French side, AS Monaco on loan in 2013. He later joined the Ligue 1 club permanently before signing for Liverpool in 2018.

Raul De Tomas

De Tomas joined Real Madrid's academy in 2004 at the age of 10. He went on to feature for every youth side in subsequent years, before earning a senior call-up in 2014.

He later joined Benfica on loan, before he permanently completed a switch to Espanyol in 2019.

Pablo Sarabia

Born in the Spanish capital, Sarabia joined Real Madrid's academy at age 12 and was rated highly by the team's scouting team. He passed through the ranks of the youth, before he made his senior team debut in the UEFA Champions League.

The left-footed winger replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in a game against Auxerre and featured for 18 minutes in a 4-0 win. That game remains his only senior appearance for the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.

He later left to sign for Getafe in 2011, before joining Sevilla in 2016. He spent three years in Sevilla before signing on with Paris Saint-Germain.

Enzo Zidane

The son of legendary midfielder, Zinedine Zidane was a member of Real Madrid system since he was nine. Ten years later, he earned his place in the Castilla team when his father was the manager of the youth team.

When Zidane was made the manager of the senior team, he handed his son a maiden senior appearance against Cultural Leonesa in a Copa Del Rey encounter, replacing Isco. He even scored a goal on his debut in his 44 minutes on the pitch.

Currently, Enzo plays for Spanish third-division club, Fuenlabrada as of July 2022 in a one-year contract.
