The Boeren has won the Eredivisie for a record 24 times; thus, it is of the same level as Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. Some iconic names, such as Ronald Koeman and Ruud Gullit, are some of the players that gave the club its huge status.

10. Jan Van Beveren

In the 1970s, Jan van Beveren was regarded as one of the top keepers. Van Beveren joined the Boeren in 1970 and won three Eredivisie titles, two domestic cups, and the UEFA Cup in 1978.

His national team career was cut short due to a feud with Johan Cruyff. As a result, he did not compete in the 1974 World Cup Finals. Nevertheless, he is one of the best players to play for them and one of PSV Eindhoven's legendary players.

9. Jaap Stam

When Manchester United paid $11 million for Stam, he became the most expensive Dutch player and the most expensive defender in the world. PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, Lazio, AC Milan, and Ajax were among his other clubs. He placed himself among the PSV Eindhoven legendary defenders.

Sam made 67 appearances for Holland, scoring three goals. He was a member of their squad for three European Championships and the 1998 World Cup. He is one of the biggest Boeren legends.

8. Coen Dillen

Coen Dillen, nicknamed Het Kanon (the cannon), spent 12 years at the Boeren. He scored 43 goals in a single season in the Eredivisie in 1956/1957, a record that has yet to be broken. He is one of the PSV Eindhoven football legends.

He scored twenty goals in nine games between January 27 and March 31, 1957. He also represented Brabantia and Helmondia '55. He only played five times for the Netherlands, scoring four goals.

7. Gerald Vanenburg

He played 372 appearances and scored 112 goals in the Eredivisie for Ajax and PSV combined, winning fifteen major titles between the two clubs, including the 1988 European Cup with the latter.

During his 20-year professional career, he played in Japan, France, and Germany. Vanenburg gained over 40 caps for the Netherlands, competing in the 1990 World Cup and winning Euro 1988.

6. Phillip Cocu

Before joining the Boeren, Cocu played for AZ and Vitesse Arnhem. Between 1998 and 2004, he was a member of FC Barcelona. During his second stay with PSV, Cocu won three more Eredivisie titles and advanced to the Champions League semi-finals.

Cocu ranks fifth on the list of Dutch international appearances with 101. He also competed in the World Cups in 1998 and 2006 and the European Championships in 1996, 2000, and 2004. He is one of the most famous PSV Eindhoven legends.

5. Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored a lot of goals. In three separate European domestic leagues, he was named top scorer. He began his career at the Boeren. He spent five seasons with Manchester United when he was named the club's finest baller twice.

He finished second in the European Golden Boot race with Real Madrid. Van Nistelrooy appeared in 70 games for the Netherlands and scored 35 goals. He competed in the 2006 World Cup as well as two European Championships. He is currently the PSV head coach.

4. Ronaldo

Ronaldo was largely regarded as one of the best players of all time. He guided Brazil to two World Cup Finals appearances, one of which he won in 2002. In 2002, he had 8 goals. He again went to the United States in 1994 but did not play.

He won the Ballon d'Or twice and was named FIFA World Player of the Year three times. He is the World Cup's second-highest scorer. He played for Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Inter Milan.

3. Ronald Koeman

Ronald Koeman was the Netherlands' rock solid sweeper in Euro 1988. He received 78 caps. He also won two European Cups, one with PSV Eindhoven and the other with Barcelona FC.

In 1992, he scored a game-winning goal for Barcelona and won their first European Cup. After that, he played for all three of the "big three" clubs in the Netherlands: Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, and Feyenoord. He was one of the key PSV Eindhoven talents.

2. Arjen Robben

Robben was a key figure in Bayern Munich's European supremacy, as they reached three Champions League Finals in four years, winning one in 2013. He has played for Real Madrid, Chelsea, and the Boeren.

Between 2003 and 2017, he earned 96 caps for the national team. He helped the Netherlands reach the World Cup Finals in 2010 and the semi-finals four years later. He is one of the best ex-PSV Eindhoven players.

1. Ruud Gullit

Ruud Gullit was the legendary captain of the Netherlands' Euro 1988 team. He transferred from the Boeren to A.C. Milan for a world record transfer fee in 1987. He was a key piece for AC Milan during their two consecutive European Cup victories in the 1980s.

In 1987, he was named European Footballer of the Year, and in 1987 and 1989, he was named World Soccer Player of the Year. He played for Sampdoria for one season, winning the Italian Cup in 1994. He received 66 caps. He is one of the PSV Eindhoven legends on FIFA 22.
