  • In-form Paris Saint-Germain are scheduled to host Monaco in their fourth match of the new season on Sunday evening
  • PSG will go into the clash off an impressive run of form that has seen them win all their three opening matches of the campaign
  • Monaco, on the other hand, have picked just four points in three fixtures, with their last outing ending in a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Lens

Paris Saint-Germain will be seeking to maintain their 100% start to the new season when they host Monaco at Parc des Princes on Sunday, August 28.

The French giants have won their three opening fixtures of the campaign, with their last outing ending in a huge 7-1 win over Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.

Despite their hot form, the reigning Ligue 1 champions find themselves sitting second on the log with nine points, a point behind leaders Lens who have played an extra match.

PSG will therefore be keen to claim maximum points against Monaco for a chance to reclaim their place at the top of the table.

PSG are expected to miss the services of Keylor Navas who is battling a back injury, while Colin Dagba and Julian Draxler also remain sidelined.

As such, Christopher Galtier's only change may be to replace the suspended Vitinha, with Leandro Paredes slotting in for him in midfield.

The attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe is expected to continue upfront in what would be a 3-4-3 formation.

In the Monaco camp, Philippe Clement will travel without Vanderson as the defender is currently suspended.

Myron Boadu is ruled out with a foot injury, while Mohamed Camara is likely to come into central midfield.

Possible starting XI:

PSG: Donnarumma; Ramos, Marquinhos, Kimpembe; Hakimi, Paredes, Verratti, Mendes; Messi, Neymar; Mbappe

Monaco: Nubel; Aguilar, Disasi, Badiashile, Henrique; Lucas, Fofana, Camara; Diatta, Ben Yedder, Embolo

Neymar writes a moving message to Lionel Messi after the duo shined against Lille

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Neymar had penned a short and sweet tribute for his Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Lionel Messi, on Instagram.

The two football stars have been best friends since their time together with Barcelona and have enjoyed a close bond since then.

The pair linked up for the first time in the summer of 2013 when Neymar sealed a stunning transfer to Camp Nou from Santos.
