Football fans have criticised Manchester City striker Erling Haaland after he allegedly cheated match officials to win his side a penalty.

Haaland went down to the faintest of touches inside the penalty area in Manchester City's game against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night.

City played out to an entertaining three-all draw against the Spanish giants in a charity game. The tie was headed in Barcelona's favour until Haaland was adjudged to have been fouled by former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

Video replays show that there was minimal touch and many fans have therefore passed judgement that it was a dive.

Riyad Mahrez stepped up to score the penalty in additional time of the game to even the tie. Julian Alvarez and Cole Plamer scored the other goals for Manchester City, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Memphis Depay and Frenkie De Jong got the goals for Xavi Hernandez's side.
