Cristiano Ronaldo has been pictured in training alongside his Manchester United teammates for the first time since it came to light that he wanted to leave the club.

As speculation about the 37-year old’s future rages on, he excited fans on social media by sharing a photo alongside youngsters Amad Diallo, Charlie Savage and Hannibal Mejbri.

The five players looked quite jovial as they posed for a photo, which Ronaldo captioned “Working in progress”, to suggest he was gearing up to play for United once again.

“The King is back”

Despite numerous reports that he is determined to walk away from Manchester United, Ronaldo has remained silent for large periods of time.

It is only recently that he started responding to scathing reports via his Instagram, where he slammed press for constantly writing about him.

On Friday, July 30, Ronaldo also hinted at making a return to Manchester United, commenting “The king is back” on Instagram.

As the new season approaches, Ronaldo also seems to be running out of options in joining a club in the Champions League.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have all ruled themselves out when it comes to signing Ronaldo, and the most plausible destination for him would be his childhood club Sporting Lisbon.

United player Atletico Madrid on Saturday in Oslo, and they will go again against Rayo Vallecano, with Ronaldo expected to feature in that match.

Atletico Madrid hand Ten Hag first defeat

As Sports Brief reported earlier, ErIk Ten Hag suffered his first defeat as Manchester United boss as the Red Devils succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Saturday, July 30.

The Los Colchineros took the lead with five minutes remaining after Alvaro Morata held up the ball well for Felix, who did brilliantly to turn Dalot and fire a shot in the corner.

Christian Eriksen also played his first game in a Manchester United shirt.
