Governor Udom Emmanuel and his Rivers State counterpart Nyesom Wike were spotted during a heated argument as regards the state with the better football team.
Akwa United were on Sunday evening, 17 July, dethroned as Nigerian champions after Rivers United emerged as new winners by beating the visiting Gombe United 1-0 on the last day of the season.
The 2021/22 Nigerian Professional Football League season has ended with Rivers United finishing first on the table with 77 points, while Plateau United settled for second as Remo Stars of Ikenne came third with 67 and 62 points, respectively.
Former champions Akwa United finished ninth on the log, having managed just 52 points during the course of the season.

The delighted Rivers State Governor Wike splashed N1million on each player of Rivers United for winning the League title.
And now a clip has surfaced online showing Udom Emmanuel troll Wike as they argued about the state with the better team.
Udom said, to the laughter of Wike:
“When we won the league, we beat all the team in Rivers State.”
However, on April 2, Rivers United forced the Promise Keepers to a 1-1 draw in Uyo, but a month earlier, the Port Harcourt-based team thrashed their visitors 4-1, Livecores reports.
