Football Pundit Reacts As Match Officials Add Over 30mins of Additional Time in NPFL Encounter

Mozez Praiz has labeled the Nigerian Professional Football League as a failed league after over 30 minutes of additional time was added in an NPFL encounter on Sunday, June 26.

The game between Kastina United and Remo Stars ran into a lengthy extra time after Remo Stars had grabbed an equalizer in the 90+2 minute to tie the encounter at 2-2.

Nigerians were however stunned after play was left to continue well beyond the regular stipulated time as Kastina United would eventually get their winning goal in the 90+34 minute to end the game 3-2 in favour of the home team.

The Result has however sparked reactions from Nigerians and veteran sports presenter Mozez Praiz called the decision from the match officials “madness”.

The Nigerian Professional Football League board is yet to issue a statement concerning the incident as football fans in the country are still perplexed and confused over the decisions of the match officials.

Irate Kastina United fans seize video equipment of opponents in a league game

Meanwhile, there was pandemonium at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium during the NPFL encounter between Katina United and Remo Stars which ended 3-2 in favour of the home team.

With Kastina United in danger of relegating from the NPFL, some irate United supporters seized the video equipment being used by the Remo Stars media team to stream the game after the away side grabbed a late equalizer in the 90+2 minute of the game.

Remo Stars were successfully stopped from live streaming the game as their hosts, Kastina United would end up winning the encounter, howbeit scoring in the 90+34 minute of the game.

3SC fans attack top Nigerian journalist

Earlier, Sports Brief reported disturbing video and photos have emerged on social media where top Nigerian sports reporter Tobi Adepoju was attacked by fans of Shooting Stars.

The ugly scene occurred after the Nigerian Professional Football League match-day 31 clash between Shooting Stars, also known as 3SC and visiting Remo Stars, which ended 1-1.

After losing their last away game 3-1 in Owerri against Heartland, fans of Shooting Stars were expecting their players to soar in Ibadan against Remo Stars of Ikenne.
