After the transfer to Fenerbahce, the 33-year-old was hoping to rediscover his spark, having endured a miserable spell under Mikel Arteta that saw him exiled.

However, according to Metro UK, the former Germany international once again landed himself in trouble in March when he was suspended by Fenerbahce after he clashed with the then club's manager, Ismail Kartal.

Mesut Ozil parts ways with Fenerbahce

According to NTV Spor, it was made clear to Ozil that he is not part of Jorge Jesus' plans, a development that saw him part ways with Fenerbahce by mutual agreement.

The report also claims that the experienced midfielder is already in talks with Fenerbahce rivals Istanbul Basaksehir to join them this summer.

Ozil's agent has already shared insights on what the future holds for the World Cup winner, divulging that he would possibly move into eSports once he calls time on his illustrious football career.

"He will go more into eSports, play himself and maybe become an eSports athlete," Dr Erkut Sogut told the Daily Telegraph per Metro UK.

Matt Turner turns up for Arsenal vs FC Nürnberg

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Matt Turner has already made his debut for Arsenal, albeit via a friendly match against FC Nürnberg played on Friday, July 8.

Mikel Arteta’s side emerged 5-3 winners but had to come from behind thanks to heroics from another summer signing, Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal got off to the worst possible start as they found themselves behind at halftime as FC Nürnberg took a two-goal lead courtesy of Johannes Geis and Kwadwo Duah.
