FootballCAF Announces Shortlist of Players, Teams and Coaches Up for Awards to Be Announced Later This Month
- CAF has whittled down its nominees for the various categories in the 2022 CAF Awards set for Thursday, 21 July
- Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez and Mohamed Salah are contenders for the African Player of the Year award following impressive campaigns for club and country
- One category that will be anticipated for keenly is the Coach of the Year award, where various impressive individuals put their hands up convincingly
CAF has confirmed its shortlist for the various categories of awards ahead of the 2022 CAF Awards.
The ceremony will be held in Morocco on Thursday, 21 July just days after the Africa Women Cup of Nations wraps up in the North African nation.

Six Banyana Banyana players nominated for CAF Player of the Year award
Banyana Banyana's charge for undisputed dominance of the African continent has been recognised.
As reported by Sports Brief, six players from the national women's team have been nominated for the CAF Player of the Year award. It was also reported that they are Andile Dlamini, Bambanani Mbane, Thembi Kgatlana, Jermaine Seoposenwe, Refiloe Jane and Linda Motlhalo.
All the nominees are currently campaigning at the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations tournament being hosted by Morocco.
