Thabang Monare could be set for a sensational return to Orlando Pirates.
The midfielder was previously released by the Buccaneers, a decision which surprised him at the time.
Soccer Laduma now reports that the Soweto club have backtracked on their original decision to let the player go.
The publication noted that the Buccaneers have decided to welcome Monare back, earmarking him as a key player in José Riveiro’s squad for the new season. The Buccaneers look set to offer the midfielder a new deal now.

Monare made 15 appearances for Pirates in the DStv Premiership and was instrumental in the team’s CAF Confederation Cup run.
The decision to release Monare originally came as a surprise to the player when it occurred, as he was under the impression that he was still going to meet with the club to discuss his contract.
Sowetan LIVE reported at the time that Monare declined to accept a pay cut in order to stay on at the Buccaneers.

Orlando Pirates has signalled its intent on challenging for trophies on all fronts in the 2022/23 DStv Premiership.
Four players were confirmed to have arrived at the club, with six others' time at the club coming to an official end.
According to iDiski Times, Evidence Makopa (Baroka FC), Bienvenu Eva Nga and Azola Matrose (both Chippa United) and Miguel Timm (Marumo Gallants). Amazulu defender Tapelo Xoki is on also on the way, with the deal being finalised before it is confirmed.
