Nigeria’s young football sensation, Gift Monday has bagged two nominations in the forthcoming CAF awards slated to hold on the 21st of July 2022.
The Super Falcons forward has been nominated for the Women’s Young Player of the Year by the Confederation of African Football after a brilliant year under review.
Gift Monday will contest for the Young Player of the award against 9 other African female stars as CAF announced the nominees for the awards Soccernet reports.

The 20-year-old striker was also nominated for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year to cap a remarkable year for the Super Falcons forward.
The Rivers Angels attacker is currently in the Super Falcons team for the ongoing 2022 Women’s Cup of Nations where Nigeria bids to win the tournament for a record 10th time.
Super Falcons unfazed after loss to South Africa
Meanwhile, Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum is still feeling upbeat about Nigeria’s chances of retaining the Women’s Cup of Nations title despite their opening game loss to South Africa.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala will no longer take part in the ongoing Africa Women’s Cup of Nations after she sustained an injury in Nigeria’s opening match against South Africa.
Oshoala was far from impressive as Banyana Banyana won the tie 2-1, and now she has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament.
The 27-year-old suffered an injury in the second half of the encounter and was immediately replaced by Francisca Ordega in the 82nd minute.
