Paul Merson speaks on Sadio Mane's Liverpool exit

Merson, a former Arsenal striker, has now conceded that Mane's exit will be a huge blow to Liverpool.

According to Merson, the 30-year-old was an integral squad member for the Merseysiders and the void he has left will be difficult to fill.

"Massive miss, massive; I worry for Liverpool, they have got an unbelievable manager but people forget that Mane was a big-game player who scored big goals," Merson told Sky Sports.
"He was not getting third, fourth and fifth in a 5-0 win, he would get the winning goal, the goal that took the lead or the equaliser, they’re the goals I look for," he added.

Mane made 269 appearances for Liverpool across his six-year spell, scoring an eyewatering 120 goals in the process.

Sadio Mane set to pocket £250,000 per week at Bayern Munich

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Sadio Mane is set to have his wages more than doubled once he completes a sensational summer move to Bayern Munich.

Reports suggest the Senegal winger is set to pocket about £250,000 per week at Bayern Munich up from the £ 100,000 a week he is earning at Anfield.

Mane is believed to be inching closer to a move to the Allianz Arena and will pen a three-year deal once he seals the transfer.
