Ghanaian goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has agreed to a deal to join English third-tier outfit Charlton Athletic on a three-year deal.

Wollacott enjoyed an impressive season with Swindon Town, where he was named in the 2021-22 League Two Team of the Season.

The Black Stars shot-stopper also played a crucial role in helping the four-time African champions qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a show-stopping performance against Nigeria in the playoffs.

"Wollacott has signed a three-year deal with the club following the expiry of his contract at Swindon Town." Charlton's official website reported.

"The 25-year-old has seven caps for Ghana after making his international debut last year. He becomes the Addicks' third signing of a busy week, following the arrivals of ball-playing centre-half Eoghan O’Connell on Monday and attacking full-back Mandela Egbo on Tuesday."

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Swindon Town shot-stopper Jojo Wollacott reckons Ghana's qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup is the best feeling he has experienced in his career.

Wollacott, who had come under a lot of backlash following his below-par display at the 2021 AFCON, was instrumental for the Black Stars as they made a return to the global showpiece.

The 25-year-old put up a commanding display in between the sticks for Ghana in the first leg, where he made one crucial save with his feet to deny Moses Simon as the Black Stars recorded a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
