FootballNdidi, Cheick Tiote Named in Top 6 African Defensive Midfielders in The Premier League
Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi has made the list of top and most impressive defensive midfielders in the Premier League following his superb performances for Leicester City.
Last year when Leicester City won the FA Cup beating Premier League rivals Chelsea in the final, Wilfred Ndidi played an important role to help his side lift the trophy.
Injury problems have slowed him down slightly and not least last season, but Ndidi’s defensive qualities should still make him an attractive prospect for Europe’s biggest clubs.
It will be recalled that injury also made Wilfred Ndidi not to be part of the Super Eagles squad that faced Ghana in two-legged battles for the 2022 World Cup play-offs.
According to the report on GOAL, Ndidi and five other African players were picked as the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.
Here is the list below
1. Wilfred Ndidi
2. Idrissa Gueye
3. Mohamed Diame
4. Cheikhou Kouyate
5. Youssouf Mulumbu
6. Cheick Tiote
Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi is currently recuperating and the Nigerian is expected to be part of the Super Eagles squad in December for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
