Dembele proved his talent to the world at Borussia by helping them clinch their first major title in five years. He netted his club's first goal in their 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2017 DFB-Pokal final.

His outstanding performance in the final won him the man of the match award and Bundesliga's rookie of the 2016/17 season. He attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe before Spanish giants Barcelona snatched him.

FC Barcelona (2017-date)

The Catalan club paid Borussia around $109 million-plus, a reported $42,000 add-on for Dembele as Neymar's replacement. The deal made Ousmane the joint-second most expensive player alongside Paul Pogba at the time.

The 25-year-old debuted for Barca in September 2017 against Espanyol and scored his first goal against Chelsea in the Champions League. Ousmane showed promising signs of enjoying a smooth career at the club before injuries started creeping in.

Despite the soaring injuries, the French star added more trophies to his list. He has become an integral team member under new manager Xavi Hernandez. He is also one of the most decorated youngsters in football.

Elsewhere, Ousmane Dembele's contract with the club runs out on 30 June 2022. However, he has yet to sign an extension, casting doubts on his future in Spain.
