Carlo Ancelotti Biography

Carlo Ancelotti (born June 10, 1959) is an Italian football manager and former player currently in charge of Real Madrid in the Spanish league, La Liga.

Ancelotti, whose nickname is Carletto, was a midfielder who had a remarkable career with Roma, where he won one Scudetto and four Coppa Italia titles at the time.

He was also a member of the very famous late 1980s Milan club, winning two Scudetto and two European Cups in five years. Additionally, he was a member of the Italian national team for 26 years, scoring one goal during that time, and playing in the 1990 World Cup.

He was appointed as Milan manager in 2001 after stints as manager of Reggiana, Parma, and Juventus. In 2004, he won the Serie A, the UEFA Champions League in 2003 and 2007, and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2007.

Impressively, Ancelotti is one of just six players and managers who have won the European Cup/Champions League. He became Chelsea manager in May 2009 and guided them to a record Premier League, and FA Cup double in his first season.

He became only the second non-British manager to win the double, joining Arsène Wenger as the only other non-British manager to do so.

He was terminated as Chelsea manager in May 2011 after an inconsistent 2010–11 Premier League season, in which Chelsea failed to retain the title. Carlo then went on to sign a contract with the ambitious French side Paris Saint-Germain on Dec 30, 2011.
