Former Ivory Coast and Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has reportedly completed a move to ambitious Djibouti outfit AS Artar Solar 7.

The 36-year-old attacker is joining the Djibouti champions on a short-term basis after his brief stint with Botafogo came to an end in April 2021 by mutual consent.

According to African Football expert, Nuhu Adams, the former Chelsea star will join a tall list of erstwhile African stars in Europe who have made a switch to the Djibouti top flight.

Kalou will link up with one-time Arsenal and FC Barcelona midfielder Alexandre Song, Dany Nounkeu, formerly of Toulouse, Galatasaray, former Burkina Faso captain Alain Traoré, Diafra Sakho of West Ham fame as well as iconic Cameroonian goalkeeper Idriss Carlos Kameni at Arta Solar.

Salomon Kalou announces the arrival of newborn baby

Former Chelsea star Solomon Kalou has taken to social media to announce the arrival of his baby girl with his partner Karina Ferreira.

The 35-year-old who currently plays for Brazilian club side Botafogo posted the feet of the newborn on his official Instagram page.

Kalou was part of the golden Blues team that won the UEFA Champions League title in 2012. He accompanied the picture with a post that says:

Ex-Arsenal star Alexandre Song wins Djibouti Premier League with Artar Solar 7

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Cameroon international Alexandre Song has won the Djibouti Premier League with his club Artar Solar 7.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder joined the Djibouti City club from Swiss giants FC Sion in November 2020.

The 34-year-old was among the players fired by the Swiss top-flight after he refused to slash his salary following the outbreak of Covid-19.
