Juan Mata has taken to social media to appreciate the Manchester United fans as the midfielder confirmed his departure from the English Premier League giants.

The 34-year-old joined Manchester United from rivals Chelsea in 2014 and has won 4 major trophies in 8 years as a Manchester United player.

According to Manchester Evening News, Mata promised to not to ever forget the love and affection he was shown at Old Trafford and wished Manchester United all the best moving forward.

"I wanted to say thank you very much to all of you for your support over the years and especially during the difficult times that we lived together.
"I will never forget you. Thank you very much. All the best from the bottom of my heart and goodbye."

Juan Mata had seen his game time reduce drastically at United in recent seasons but leaves as a cult hero after scoring 51 goals in 285 appearances across 8 years for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has confirmed that Spanish midfielder, Juan Mata will be leaving the English Premier League club this summer.

According to Manchester United, the Red Devils thanked the 34-year-old midfielder for dedicating his last 8 years to the club.

Mata joins Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Nemanja Matic, and Lee Grant as the sixth player to depart United this summer on a free transfer.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Man United star Jesse Lingard has penned a passionate farewell message to fans ahead of his Old Trafford exit.

United announced the midfielder would be departing the club on a free transfer when his contract expires, ending his more than 20-year association with the Red Devils.

Despite his longevity at the Theatre of Dreams, Lingard became a peripheral figure in the final seasons of his spell at the club.
