Ghana coach Otto Addo is excited with the performance of the two locally-based players drafted into the Black Stars team.
The Black Stars will cross swords against Madagascar in the 2023 Afcon qualifier at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday, June 1.
Bechem United's Augustine Okrah and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh of Hearts of Oak are the two players from the Ghana Premier League who were handed call-ups to the Black Stars.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday ahead of the first match against Madagascar on Wednesday, Coach Otto Addo confirmed that he has been impressed by the two players.
“I have been watching some games. The two players called made good impressions," Addo said, quoted by Ghanasoccernet.
"It’s important to see them live in training and in the end, once we are on the pitch, I don’t care about who is local and who is not.
"The performance will decide,” the Ghana head coach shared.
Okrah has been outstanding in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign for Bechem United.
The former Asante Kotoko playmaker has guided the Hunters to the FA Cup final and are also in contention for the Ghana Premier League title.
Meanwhile, Afriyie Barnieh has also been the livewire for Hearts of Oak this season, has bagged 10 goals in all competitions.
Ghana will also take on the Central African Republic four days later.
Otto Addo will also lead his charges to a four-nation tournament in Japan as part of preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Ghana head coach Otto Addo has announced his squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and the Central Africa Republic.
The 33-man Black Stars squad includes some new faces who have received their debut call-ups.
The three new players are Bechem United's Augustine Okrah, Alidu Seidu of Ligue 1 club Clermont Foot and Bristol City's forward Antoine Semenyo.
