- Chelsea has lost in the final of the FA Cup twice in a row after disappointments against Arsenal in 2020 and Leicester City in 2021
Chelsea will be hoping to end their recent record of losing in the FA Cup finals when they tackle Liverpool on Saturday, May 14 at Wembley.
The Blues will be looking to add a 9th FA Cup trophy to their cabinet after coming close in the previous two seasons where they were losing finalists against Arsenal and Leicester City.
According to a report via the Daily Mail, Thomas Tuchel believes his Chelsea team can find a way to outsmart Liverpool in the FA Cup final but that they have to be perfect with their tactics.
“Liverpool do allow chances and we proved it with big chances in the Carabao Cup final. But it's their approach. They are the team who put other strikers of other teams into offside by far the most.
'So it's not easy to counter. You need the connection between the guy with the pass and the guy who receives it. But, like always, you can find solutions if you have a perfect day.”
Chelsea are considered the underdogs heading into Saturday’s final against Liverpool who are still in contention to win four trophies this season.
