FootballDavid Beckham Urges Cristiano Ronaldo To Stay at Manchester United for at Least Another Season
- Beckham urges Ronaldo to stay on at Manchester United for another year or two despite United’s horrific campaign this season
- Manchester United could be relegated to the UEFA Conference League should West Ham, who currently occupy seventh, win their remaining games
- Ronaldo could be tempted to seek a move elsewhere with his former club, Real Madrid, reportedly keen on re-signing him
Retired footballer and superstar David Beckham has asked Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Manchester United for at least another season.
Rumours have continued to swirl around that Ronaldo could possibly consider his future elsewhere, considering United’s shambolic season. The Red Devils are set to miss out on the Champions League. Their Europa League spot could also slip away from them should West Ham win all of its remaining games.
United’s season took another disappointing twist when they were swept aside 4-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. The result meant that this season would be United’s lowest tally in Premier League history.
Ralf Rangnick took over from the embattled Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with the promise of turning around the fortunes of the club. Things have, however, not gone to plan, with United finishing another season trophyless.
Ronaldo is the best in the world
All these considered, Ronaldo is said to be considering a move away. His former club Real Madrid are interested in bringing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner back to the Bernabeu. But Beckham, as Metro UK reports, thinks otherwise.
Obviously Cristiano is one of the best players over the last 15 years with Leo. To see him stay on at Manchester United is important for the fans. It’s important to him, we all know how much Man United means to him.
And he is still doing what he does best, scoring goals and creating. That’s what Cristiano does. Even at his age, to be doing what he’s doing, is really incredible, so hopefully it continues and hopefully he stays for another year or two.
Manchester United emerge as surprise favourites to land Primera Liga top scorer
FootballRonaldo’s return to Old Trafford earlier this season has been a success for him individually despite United’s struggles. He so far has 18 goals in the Premier League. Only Mohamed Salah and Heung-Min Son have more goals than him.
Ronaldo caught laughing at United's display
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Ronaldo was caught laughing sarcastically in their defeat to Brighton.
Brighton tore Man United apart to record their biggest-ever win in the Premier League and their talisman couldn’t help himself but laugh.
Ronaldo has been United’s go-to source for goals this season, but an efficient display from the Seagulls made sure he couldn’t add to his tally.
