Details have now emerged of how N’Golo Kante solicited help from a famous Malaysia cuisine in the run-up to the Champions League success last season.

Goal.com understands that Nasi Lemak is Kante’s favourite food. It is famous food in Malaysia which is made from rice, coconut milk and pandan leaves. It is the national dish of the Malaysian people. It can be served with eggs, chilli sauce or cucumber.

Tukdin head chef Syed Fauzi recounts how Kante in his usual humble nature agreed to take pictures with them after getting his takeaway food.

The Chelsea midfield engine dropped some strong performances as Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League last season. He was voted man-of-the-match four times in the knockout stages. Two of them came against Real Madrid in the semifinals.

The other one came in the final against Manchester City. His exploits saw him finish third in the UEFA Player of the year award. Malaysians on Twitter have been quick to note that its Nasi Lemak that made Kante deliver such world-class performances.

The diminutive player has grown to be a darling of many fans. He made his breakthrough with the Leicester City team that shocked the world to win the Premier League in 2016.

He thereafter made the switch to Chelsea where won the Premier League again in his first season under Antonio Conte. He has followed the Premier League successes with trophies in the Europa League, Champions League, FA Cup, Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

But perhaps his biggest trophy to date is the FIFA World Cup that he won with France in 2018. The 31-year-old formed a midfield partnership with Paul Pogba as Didier Deschamps led his nation to their first World Cup in 20 years.

Clubs plotting for Mason Mount transfer

Sports Brief had earlier reported that three unnamed European giants are plotting a move for Kante’s teammate Mason Mount.

Mount has been prolific for the Blues since making his debut in 2019. He has become an important player for Thomas Tuchel who has trusted him regularly with starting berths.

Chelsea continue to be in a tough spot as the ownership situation remains unresolved. Other clubs will be ready to pounce on the confusion and lure Mount away.
