According to a report via Daily Mail, Liverpool is now set to move on with new contract talks with Jurgen Klopp, as the club's owners, Fenway Sports Group, want to keep him at the helm.

Klopp has had a remarkable resume since signing for Liverpool in 2015 and the German has guided the Reds to the Premier League and UEFA Champions League titles since his appointment.

The 54-year-old manager is also on the verge of winning an unprecedented quadruple this season as the Reds took a giant step towards a third Champions League final in five years.

Liverpool has also won the EFL Cup and are in the finals of the FA Cup, one point behind Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

Liverpool still has work to do vs Villarreal

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp is not getting carried away over Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg win against Villarreal after the Reds won 2-0 at Anfield.

According to Sky Sports, Klopp has admitted the reverse fixture away in Spain will be a tricky one for Liverpool and has urged his players to be focused on the job at hand.

Two second-half goals from a Pervis Estupinan's 53rd minute own and Sadio Made put Liverpool in a solid position to make the Champions League final.

Klopp speaks on plans to leave Liverpool

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jurgen Klopp has said he is almost certain to leave Liverpool in 2024 when his current contract runs out.

In his six and a half years at the Merseyside club, Klopp has transformed football there, with Liverpool reclaiming their spot as one of the big guns in world football.

His latest trophy triumph was in the Carabao Cup, where his side managed to beat Chelsea via a penalty shootout, and Klopp sensationally likened the trophy to the Champions League.
