  • Stunning new reports suggest Antonio Conte is confident he could get the Paris Saint Germain job
  • The Italian, currently at Spurs, has overseen 30 games with the North London side across all competitions
  • Le Parisien claims Conte is keen on taking over from Mauricio Pochettino, who has come under pressure due to his Champions League failures with the club

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is reportedly confident that he will succeed Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint Germain from next season in a stunning new development.

The former Inter Milan boss, who only took charge of Spurs in November, is reportedly eyeing the PSG job as pressure continues to mount on Pochettino.

According to Le Parisien, the Italian has reportedly told PSG bosses that he would like to manage the club, prompting the club to add him to the list of possible options to replace the embattled Pochettino.

Despite being en route to the Ligue 1 title, Pochettino has come under pressure because of his failure to deliver Champions League glory to the French capital.

The Parisians were once again knocked out of the competition in the last 16, this time losing to semi-finalists Real Madrid.

While it is hard to imagine Conte leaving Tottenham so soon, he might be tempted to walk away if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy opts for a restricted transfer budget.

Also, the fact that he enjoys a good relationship with presidents Daniel Levy and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, a deal is not far from possible.

Pogba set to leave United for free

Meanwhile, Manchester United are set to lose their midfielder Paul Pogba for free at the end of the season, with the Frenchman likely to join PSG in the summer.

The French midfielder is expected to be out of action for up to a month with the calf injury which automatically rules him out for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

United have no interest in extending Paul Pogba’s contract with the Red Devils when his current deal expires at the end of the season.

According to Marca, the 29-year-old has already begun talks with Spanish giants, Real Madrid, and former club, Juventus ahead of a possible summer transfer.
