The visitors mounted an incredible comeback from a two-goal deficit in the first leg, with Rudiger getting on the score sheet to help Chelsea go 4-3 ahead on aggregate on the night.

Luka Modric came up with a sublime outer foot assist late in the game and Rodrygo had an easy volley to level the tie once again.
In extra time, Karim Benzema once again delivered for his side as he headed home what proved to be the winner for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

“Over the two legs if you make these kind of mistakes you get punished," he told BTSport.
"It was a do or die for us. Before the game not everybody thought we could get to 3-0 but then the individual class comes to light with Modric and Benzema, now we are here."
With the defeat to Real Madrid, Chelsea missed the chance to make it back to back Champions League titles.
For Real Madrid, their pursuit of a La Liga and Champions League double continues as they wait to see who they will face in the semis between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.
