Ghana Legend Asamoah Gyan Pays Courtesy Call on Italian Ambassador Ahead of Book Launch

Ghana's all-time leading scorer, Asamoah Gyan, is taking steps to ensure the launch of the memoir is successful after paying a courtesy call on the Italian Ambassador.

The former Black Stars captain invited Ambassador Daniela d'Orlandi ahead of the official unveiling of his memoir on April 30, 2022.

Asamoah Gyan spent the formative years of his career in Italy, where he played for Udinese and Modena.

"Earlier today, I was with the legend Asamoah and the Team to my second home Italy, to officially invite HE Daniel d'Orlandi, the Italian Ambassador to Ghana. Book launch loading , 30th April , Kempinski Hotel, Accra," wrote his manager Anim Addo on Twitter.

Asamoah Gyan has invited some influential persons, including the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, to the event.

The 36-year-old forward is yet to retire from the sports despite being inactive for over a year. He last played for Legon Cities in the Ghana Premier League.

Asamoah Gyan honoured by former club Al Ain

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Asamoah Gyan has been presented with a plaque and a jersey by former club Al Ain after visiting the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.

The club honoured the former Ghana captain following his legendary stint with the club between 2011 to 2015.

In a statement posted on the club's official website, Asamoah Gyan expressed gratitude to the club for their warm welcome.

Asamoah Gyan mobbed by fans in Dubai

Asamoah Gyan is a treasured asset in Ghana and he is equally loved by fans in all the countries that he plied his trade.

During the week, the former Ghana captain visited the United Arab Emirates as part of the country's entourage for the 2022 Expo.

The former Al Ain star in a video spotted by Sports Brief was met by huge crowd of fans who mobbed and sang praises of the legend striker. Read more:
