Legendary Ghanaian forward, Asamoah Gyan visited the National Chief Imam of the West African country, Sheik Oman Nuhu Sharubutu on the first day of Ramadan.
The 36-year-old, who is yet to retire from the sport, spent time with the Imam who offered prayers to the striker during the holy month.
In photos posted on Twitter, the striker and his team are seen in the company of the Islamic leader at his premises in Fadama.
"Highly Spiritual, a visit to His Royal Highness Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu for his blessings and to invite him to the book launch of the only JET Asamoah Gyan. In the holy month of Ramadan …. May Allah hear and answer our prayers," wrote Asamoah Gyan's manager Samuel Anim Addo on Twitter.
The visit was also to invite the Imam to the launch of his maiden book later this month.
Asamoah Gyan is expected to make a comeback to the sport after a year of inactivity. Gyan last played for Ghana Premier League side, Legon Cities.
Asamoah Gyan pays courtesy call on Italian Ambassador
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana's all-time leading scorer, Asamoah Gyan, is taking steps to ensure the launch of the memoir is successful after paying a courtesy call on the Italian Ambassador.
The former Black Stars captain invited Ambassador Daniela d'Orlandi ahead of the official unveiling of his memoir on April 30, 2022.
Asamoah Gyan spent the formative years of his career in Italy, where he played for Udinese and Modena.
