England international Tammy Abraham has continued to cement his place in the heart of Roma fans following an incredible display in their 3-0 win over Lazio, SunSport reports.

The former Chelsea striker was the hero, scoring a brace to help the Giallorossi claim another precious three points in the Italian Serie A.

His brace on Sunday was enough for him to smash a long-standing record set by Argentine legend Gabriel Batistuta for the most goals scored in a debut season for Roma, each registering 21.

The goals helped Abraham move on to 23 for the campaign as he sent the entire fans at the Stadio Olimpico just minutes into the encounter.

It didn’t take long for the 24-year-old to complete his brace as he found the back of the net in the 22nd minute and then Lorenzo Pellegrini unleashed a pearler to make it three before the break.

His big moment to claim the matchball arrived on 67 minutes. But the towering frontman fired wide after controlling the ball in his stride.

Not that it mattered much as his double moved his team above their neighbours Lazio and into the fifth spot in Serie A.

Osimhen sets Nigerian all-time record in Serie A

Meanwhile, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has set an astonishing Nigerian record in the Serie A following his brace against Udinese helping his side to a 2-1 win, Vavel reports.

The 23-year-old Nigerian international helped his side come from a goal down to claim all three points, as they keep the pressure on league leaders AC Milan.

Udinese opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after Udogie went forward through the middle and played to Roberto Pereyra.

Juventus keep pressure on top-three

Sports Brief earlier reported that Juventus put their Champions League woes behind them to consolidate fourth place in Serie A on Sunday with a 2-0 win over basement club Salernitana, while Roma stunned city rivals Lazio 3-0 with three first-half goals.

Days after their 3-0 European humiliation by Villarreal, Juventus kept their push to recapture the Serie A title alive with a win which moves them one point behind champions Inter Milan who are third, with a game in hand and were held 1-1 at home by Fiorentina on Saturday.

Leaders AC Milan have a three-point advantage on Napoli, with Juve seven points off top spot.
