Ghana international Thomas Partey has drawn the line between the English Premier League and the Spanish topflight.

The 28-year-old midfielder is enjoying his best spell for the Gunners since he switched Spain for England and is fast becoming a cult hero with his superlative displays.

Thomas' purple patch of form was rehashed with his crowning as the player of the month for Arsenal in the month of February while playing a major role in Arsenal's Champions League pursuit.

Before he started producing the swashbuckling performances from midfield, the Black Stars deputy skipper struggled to gain a foothold of the Premier League after joining in 2020.

According to the Black Stars talisman, the English top-flight league has high intensity and requires quick thinking at all times.

Partey opens up on the difference between England and Spain

“Well, I think the intensity is different, the tactics are different, you can be pressed from every angle and you don’t have time to think. You have like 2 seconds to be able to think so you have to be quick. I think that is the only surprise I got,” Thomas Partey told Football Daily as quoted by Football Ghana.

Partey's time in Spain

The Ghana international joined Atletico Madrid in 2012 but was farmed out on loan to gain first-team experience and adapt to Spanish football.

The Krobo Odumase born midfielder had stints with Mallorca and Almeria before returning to his parent club in 2015.

After five years of consistently playing under the coaching tutelage of Diego Simeone, he became one of the best in his positions while also enhancing his versatility attributes.
