Arsenal kept alive their hope to qualify to next season's UEFA Champions League after an impressive 2-0 win against Leicester City on Sunday, March 13.

Goals from Thomas Partey and Alexandre Lacazette secured a 5th consecutive victory for the Gunners in the Premier League against the struggling Foxes at the Emirates Stadium.

Alexandre Lacazette would later secure all three points for Arsenal from the penalty spot as he cooly converted his spot-kick following a handball from Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu.

Leicester City were second-best on the night with the Foxes' best chance falling to Harvey Barnes who saw his effort well saved by Aaron Ramsdale.

According to Sky Sports, the three points lift Arsenal back above Manchester United into fourth, one point ahead of them with three games in hand.

Arteta says Arsenal deserves Champions League football

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta revealed after the Gunners victory against Leicester City that the North London club is obliged to be playing Champions League football.

According to the BBC, Arteta disclosed that the Club's rich history is enough motivation to want to play with Europe's elite teams but they first need to stay consistent.

Arsenal are seeking to end a five-year absence from the UEFA Champions League and are presently 4th on the EPL table with three games outstanding on Manchester United.

Gunners chase League double over Leicester

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal and Leicester City will wrap up an interesting weekend of football in the English Premier League on Sunday, March 13 with the game promising to be a goal-fest.

The Gunners have been in scintillating form of late having won eight of their past ten games in the Premier League.

Arsenal has won the last two meetings against Leicester City and three of their last five encounters with Leicester winning just once.
