Former Ghana forward, Kwadwo Poku Mahala has disclosed that he was a better player than ex-captain Asamoah Gyan when he was in his prime.
Both Kwadwo Poku and Asamoah Gyan started their careers at almost the same time before the former Sunderland player left to continue his football abroad.
Gyan went on to become a legend for the West African nation while Kwadwo Poku made only nine appearances and scored two goals for Ghana.
In an interview with popular Ghanaian YouTuber Zion Felix, the Denmark-based ex-footballer explained how his career took a nosedive.
"You know every player has his peak years. Abedi Pele has his time, Tony Yeboah had his time. But, during my time, the strikers were me, Asamoah Gyan and one other striker who played for Ashantigold, Shaibu Yakubu. So I said I was the best amongst us during our time," he said.
Kwadwo Poku was famous for producing one of his greatest performance in the Kotoko shirt during a game in a city in Egypt named Mahalla.
His form at Kumasi Asante Kotoko earned him a move to Denmark in 2004, where he signed for Midtjylland.
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan left for Udinese, and ended up having an illustrious career which saw him play for Modena, Stade Rennais and Sunderland in Europe.
