"Definitely, anytime we see them we try to give our advice. It's up to them too, whether they take it or not. There are a lot of people who look up to me, there are a lot of young ones coming out, seeing me on the screens. So anytime anyone needs my advice, I am around," said Asamoah Gyan.

The former Sunderland player remains Ghana's all-time leading scorer with 51 goals from 109 appearances for the Black Stars.

His career has seen him globetrot, playing for several clubs including Udinese and Stade Rennes in Europe and Al Ain and Shanghai SIPG in Asia.

Gyan missed the last Africa Cup of Nations after he was left out of the squad by coach Milovan Rajevac, having been inactive for almost a year.

He last played for Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities.
