Augustine Eguavoen has visited Super Eagles players in England ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff against Ghana in March.
The Super Eagles were drawn to face their arch-rivals and West African neighbor in the all-important game to determine one of Africa’s five representatives at the World Cup in Qatar.
Complete Sports reports Eguavoen was joined on the trip with Nigeria Football President, Amaju Pinnick, alongside Emmanuel Amuneke who was recently appointed as chief coach of the Super Eagles.

Eguaveoen has been tasked by the Nigeria Football Federation to qualify the Super Eagles to the World Cup after being retained in his position as interim technical adviser of the national team.
Meanwhile, NFF President, Amaju Pinnick has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment towards qualifying for this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
Pinnick in a series of tweets indicated that qualification is a must for Nigeria as preparations for the World Cup playoffs against Ghana in March reaches top gear.
“Make no mistake. World Cup qualification is non-negotiable. We are putting all of our efforts on getting the ticket.
“We are not going to Qatar to make up the numbers. We are going to give it our best shot”.

World football governing body FIFA recently gave approval for Ademola Lookman to play for Nigeria after featuring for England in Under 19, 20, and 21 levels.
The 24-year-old is now available for selection if the Super Eagles coach should pick him for the coming final World Cup playoffs against Ghana next month.
