Ghanaian Forward Scores as VfL Bochum Tear Apart Bayern Munich in Germany

• Christopher Antwi-Adjei was on target as VfL Bochum shocked German champions Bayern Munich on Saturday
• The Ghanaian winger leveled for Bochum after they were down just nine minutes into the game to start a first half riot that led to their victory
• The 28-year-old played for Ghana during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome in 2019

German-born Ghanaian attacker, Christopher Antwi-Adjei starred for VfL Bochum as the Bundesliga returnees tore apart the champions on Saturday.

Antwi-Adjei started what will be a first half massacre after leveling for Bochum in the 14 minute following a Robert Lewandowski opener.

The Ghana international and his teammates celebrated the victory after photos were dropped on Twitter right after the match.

Bayern Munich were overwhelmed at the Vonovia Stadium following a first half collapse which saw them concede four goals.

Bayern started the brighter of the two sides after forward Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock in the 9th minute whith a fine strike.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei responded five minutes later to level the scoreline and from the it was all Bochum. Jurgen Locadia converted from the spot to make it 2-1 with six minutes remaining to go for half time.

Christian Gamboa compounded Bayern's woes with a third for Bochum in the 40th minute before Gerrit Holtmann hit the fourth just before half time.

Lewandowski pulled one back after the break but it was too late for a redemption.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana has dropped to 61st in the latest Coca Cola FIFA rankings today following the Black Stars' abysmal display at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The four-times African champions have also dropped out of the top ten places on the continent, with Burkina Faso, who finished fourth at AFCON taking Ghana's place.
