It was seemed to be a shock, a number of Super Eagles stars were spotted crying after they crashed out of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
Evening Standard reports that North African side Tunisia handed their West African counterparts a 1-0 defeat which saw the Nigerian stars pack their bags from the tournament.
The Super Eagles were tactically overpowered by a very disciplined Carthage Eagles who were cautious as they clipped the wings of Nigerian stars.
The only goal of the game came in the 46th minute when Youssef Msakni found space outside the area and powered home a ferocious shot which goalkeeper Maduka Okoye flicked into his own net.
It then went from bad to worse for the Nigerian team when Alex Iwobi was shown straight red moments after coming on as a second-half substitute.
With 10-men, the Eagles raised their game as they were heading out of the competition, but the Tunisian side were resolute to win the encounter.
At the blast of the final whistle, a number of the Nigerian players went down the turf, while others managed to bury their heads.
Famous photojournalist Modo Victor captured the moment winger Moses Simon and defender Ola Aina were full of tears.
It was full of disappointment for Nigeria as it spelt disaster that they will no longer take part in the tournament despite their ‘favourites’ status.
