Each Super Eagles players currently campaigning for Nigeria at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroon will get $10,000 which is around N4.1million for their wins over Egypt and Sudan.

Austin Eguavoen and his wards started their campaign at the 2021 AFCON on a winning note beating Egypt 1-0 thanks to super goal scored by Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were so superb against Sudan winning the game 3-1 in which Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi and Moses Simon scored the goals.

According to the report on Punch, the Nigerian Football Federation chiefs held meeting with the Super Eagles players on the amount they would get before the start of the AFCON.

“There is an agreement that the players will receive $5000 for a win and half of that for a draw, while they won’t get a dime for losing.''

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles interim coach Austine Eguavoen was hailed by defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi who claimed that his level of management has been of great help to the players.

Following the sacking of Gernot Rohr last year after five years in charge of the Super Eagles, the Nigerian Football Federation appointed Austine Eguavoen on an interim capacity for AFCON.

Austine Eguavoen explained after the announcement that he will try his best to help the Super Eagles and his first match was a friendly win over Coton Sports in Cameroon.

Under interim manager Austine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles have played two games against Egypt and Guinea-Bissau and they have won the battles.
