Netizens have asked, ''What team has gone the longest without being in the Super Bowl?'' The Detroit-based football team are among the oldest teams in the league. They were initially known as the Portsmouth Spartans but moved to Detroit in 1943 and became the Lions.

Before the NFL and AFL (American Football League) merger, the team won the NFL championship titles in 1935, 1952, 1953, and 1957. In 1992, the Detroit Lions won the playoffs, which was the closest they came to the Bowl. However, they have not won a playoff since.

2. Houston Texas

Houston Texas is one of the teams that has not been to the Super Bowl since joining the franchise in 2002. Additionally, the crew has never reached a conference championship despite winning six AFC (American Football Conference) South Championships between 2011 and 2019.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

Founded in 1995, the Jacksonville Jaguars are among the football teams that have not been to the Super Bowl. However, they made the playoffs four times in their first five years, playing in the AFC Conference Championship in 1996.

In 1999, the Jaguars came close to a Super Bowl qualification but lost to the Tennessee Titans. In 2017, the crew competed in their third AFC title game but lost to the New Englands Patriots.

4. Cleveland Browns

The Browns are among the teams that have not been to a Super Bowl. The original team started competing in 1946. The team won each of the four championship games before the league dissolved in 1949.

After moving to the NFL, the Browns continued to thrive, winning three championships between 1950 and 1955. Just like the Detroit Lions, they dominated the championships before the Super Bowl came into being. Their first playoff appearance since 2002 was in 2020, but unfortunately, they lost in the divisional round.
