London's Hammersmith is where the famous reporter was born. His mother was born in New Jersey and is American. He enrolled in the City of London Institution, a private boys' school for his academic studies. He later enrolled at Exeter University in South West England, the United Kingdom. He hosted a program while working as a broadcaster at University Radio Exeter.

He started presenting on University Radio Exeter while still a student. After receiving his degree, he underwent journalistic training at CBS News' London bureau before working as a news and sports reporter for regional radio stations in the South-West of England.

After that, he returned to London to work on the Sony Award-winning news program The Way It Is on 95.8 Capital FM. To work on Chrysalis Television's Grand Prix programming, he joined the company at the end of 1996 after working as a news and sports reporter for LBC and London News Direct for a while.

From the start of ITV's F1 coverage in 1997, he worked as a producer. From 2002 onwards, he was a pit-lane reporter, and in 2007 and 2008, he presided over ITV's British Touring Car Championship coverage.

He held this role till the end of 2011 after Formula One coverage switched to the BBC in 2009. He later joined Sky Sports F1 coverage in 2012 after Martin Brundle, and other BBC employees confirmed it in December 2011; he has been there ever since.

Later, he was the channel's weekly host of The F1 Show. In the 2012 season, he shared a role with Georgie Thompson; however, in the 2013 season, Natalie Pinkham took over the position.

Following the 2022 US Grand Prix, Kravitz made statements that sparked controversy, alleging that Lewis Hamilton's lead was robbed in the 2021 Formula One title. Due to this, Max Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing team boycotted all interviews and programs on Sky Sports the weekend of the 2022 Mexico City Grand Prix.
