The Dutch driver shows no signs of slowing down, starting the season with victories at the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia GPs, marking his best start to a season since his debut in 2015.

In just two races of the 2024 campaign, Verstappen has once again eclipsed expectations, surpassing several more records.

Sports Brief delves into the astounding feats accomplished by the Dutch driver in the early stages of this season.

Records Verstappen has eclipsed in 2024

The youngest driver to achieve 100 podium finishes

Verstappen made history by becoming the youngest driver in the 74-year history of Formula 1 to notch up 100 podium finishes.

At just 26 years and five months, the Dutch driver surpassed the milestone previously held by former Red Bull ace, Sebastian Vettel, who achieved this feat at the age of 30 years and eight months.

Notably, Verstappen's achievement places him ahead of illustrious names like Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Kimi Raikkonen, and Fernando Alonso, all of whom reached this milestone well into their 30s or early 40s.

Laps led in Formula 1

The Dutch driver, who made history by leading over 1,000 laps in a single season in 2023, has continued his impressive performance in 2024.

Following his outstanding race at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver has now moved into fourth position on the all-time list of laps led in the history of the sport, only trailing Vettel, Schumacher, and Hamilton.

Win percentage in Formula 1

Verstappen further solidified his position as one of the greatest drivers ever to grace an F1 cockpit with his triumph at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The 26-year-old now boasts one of the highest win percentages in the history of the sport, standing at 29.95%.

This accomplishment sees him surpass Schumacher's percentage of 29.64% and places him fifth on the all-time list, behind Hamilton's 30.83%, Jim Clark's 34.72%, Alberto Ascari's 40.63%, and the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio with 47.06%.

Mercedes chief hints at signing Verstappen

Sports Brief also reported on Mercedes Chief, Toto Wolff, claiming to have discussed potentially signing Verstappen and Adrian Newey.

The 52-year-old hinted at the possibility of both individuals joining the Brackley-based outfit in what would be a blockbuster move.
