Francis Ngannou is getting plaudits from all realms after standing toe-to-toe with Tyson Fury in his first-ever professional boxing bout, and fans don't agree with the result.

Ngannou squared up against one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, Fury and did not look like a newbie throughout the fight and even scored a takedown.

Per Sky Sports, the British boxer was scored 96-93 and 95-94 by two judges, while the former UFC fighter was scored 95-94 by the other judge, handing the Gypsy King a win by unanimous decision.

The match's outcome was met with claims of 'robbery' by fans and other sports personalities after watching the African debutant score a takedown in the third round and was decent throughout the match.

Drogba sides with Ngannou

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba was one of the sports personalities who disagreed with the fight's outcome and took to his social media page to declare his winner.

The Ballon d'Or host declared his African brother Ngannou the winner, and many of the comments agreed with him, while some had other businesses in his comments section.

Drogba and the former UFC Heavyweight champion shared a similar story of being born in West Africa and moving to Europe, though through different means.

The two-time African footballer of the year will host the 67th Ballon d'Or ceremony on Monday night, another sporting event already generating controversy with Lionel Messi expected to win.
