  • Cavin Johnson has suggested that he will remain as Kaizer Chiefs head coach until the end of the season
  • Amakhosi have struggled to get results under the tactician who was appointed after Molefi Ntseki's sacking
  • The 65-year-old tactician has guided the club to five wins, four draws, and four defeats in all competitions

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach, Cavin Johnson, has stated that he will remain as the club's head coach until his services are no longer needed.

The tactician watched as his side missed a number of chances as they played a goalless draw with Cape Town City on Saturday, March 30.

Amakhosi missed a chance to move into the second position on the PSL table after failing to secure all three points.

Johnson was appointed on an interim basis after the sacking of Molefi Ntseki and he has been in charge of 13 games in all competitions.

The 65-year-old has guided the club to five wins, four draws, and four defeats in all competitions.

When asked about his future with the club, Johnson replied, as per iDiski Times:

“But like I said, everybody thinks it’s interim, there’s no such thing as an interim coach, you take the team and you work until the team doesn’t need you anymore, so yes, I’m doing the best I can as the coach and taking this brand of football to the best we can for the last nine games.”

Chiefs will now take on second-placed Stellenbosch on Tuesday in the DStv Premiership at FNB Stadium.

Pitso Mosimane linked with Kaizer Chiefs

Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs are nursing a massive ambition of reuniting Pitso Mosimane and Percy Tau at the South African club next season as they try to rebuild ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Amakhosi are eager to bring the glory days back to the club after a turbulent few years which has seen them finish trophyless heading into a decade now.

Kaizer Chiefs fans believe there is no way the DStv Premier League club can afford Mosimane who only in January signed a four-month contract with Abha Club.
