  • Kaizer Chiefs have failed to win silverware in nine years, raising concerns among fans
  • The club have been urged to replace the Motaungs at the management level with professional hands
  • Mike Nkuna, who is being linked with a possible takeover of the club, has finally reacted

After splashing a staggering R500 million for new players, fans have urged Mike Nkuna to take over Kaizer Chiefs from the Motaungs family.

It has been nine years since the Glamour Boys last won a title and the club supporters are calling for an overhaul at the management level.

At the moment, four of Kaizer Motaung's children hold key positions at the top level of the club as Bobby is the Football Manager.

His younger brother Kaizer Junior is the Sporting Director while their two sisters Kemiso and Jessica are in charge of Digital and Marketing respectively.

Chiefs have continued to struggle on the pitch of play and the last time they won a silverware was during the 2014/2015 season when they won the PSL title.

Only recently, the United Democratic Movement leader, Bantu Holomisa, suggested that all the Motaungs should be removed from their respective positions.

He emphasised professionalism, saying Amakhosi must engage competent hands to stand a chance of returning to the glory days.

As he continues to pump funds into the club, rumours emerged that Mike Nkuna is making efforts to become the outright owner of the club.

Nkuna responded, as per Farpost:

"Regrettably, the current statements circulating on social media referencing intentions by Dr Mike Nkuna to purchase Kaizer Chief are false.
"He has expressed his reluctance for any administration [role] of Kaizer Chiefs, thus refuting the assertion to bring in players and new management.
"Noteworthy, Dr. Nkuna remains a committed board member of Kaizer Chiefs, while his primary focus is on property development."

Kaizer Chiefs crash out of Nedbank Cup

Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs have been dumped out of this season's Nedbank Cup, and fans are demanding answers from the club owner and founder, Kaizer Motaung.

After an extraordinary 120 minutes at the FNB Stadium on Sunday evening, Milford FC pulled off the unthinkable to win the tie via a penalty shootout.

Amakhosi blew away several chances in the encounter, which they dominated from start to finish.
