After the game, the home supporters invaded the pitch, with the Nigerian defender taking matters into his own hands when he had an altercation with a fan who tried to attack him with a knife.

In a viral video on social media, the former Blackpool star showed his MMA skills while defending himself against the unmasked fan.

According to a report by Turkey Leo Sports, Osayi-Samuel is set to be banned for 10 games for his altercation, while some of his teammates will also get punished too.

The fan is reported to have been taken to intensive care after his clash with the Nigerian defender.

Osayi-Samuel could get further punishment for his act and be referred to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Disciplinary Committee, as Article 44 of the Turkish football discipline rules states that the defender could be banned from football for three months or a year.

Osayi-Samuel performs AFCON dance after scoring

Sports Brief also reported that Osayi-Samuel hit the popular AFCON dance after netting his first goal of the season during the match between Fenerbahce and Hatayspor.

The Super Eagles defender opened the scoring for the Turkish giants after meeting a teasing cross from ex-Inter Milan striker Eden Dzeko halfway through the first half following his return from AFCON last month.

Former AS Roma winger, Cengiz Under doubled the lead for Fenerbahçe just before half-time after finishing off a brilliant assist from Dusan Tadic.
