Nigerian defender, Kenneth Omeruo, shared his thoughts on the Super Eagles beating Ivory Coast in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Abidjan.

The three-time African champions sealed a place in the final after defeating South Africa's Bafana Bafana in the semi-final on Wednesday (February 7).

In an exclusive chat with Sports Brief, Omeruo discusses the possibility of getting another victory against the Ivorians in the final on Sunday.

"Yes, It is definitely possible [to get a win against Ivory Coast again]; we have to stick to our game plan and remain focused," he said.
"Even when we beat them in the group stage, we knew they were a good team; we just have to keep to our gameplan, and we would win."

The final is scheduled to take place at the 60,000-capacity Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday, February 11, according to Soccerway.

Nigeria have a chance to win their fourth AFCON title on Sunday, while the Elephants are hoping to make theirs three.

Omeruo speaks on pressure by Ivorian fans

Sports Brief previously reported on Omeruo discussing the lack of fear among Super Eagles players when facing the Elephants in front of their home supporters in the AFCON 2023 final on Sunday.

The AFCON 2013 winner claimed that the Elephants are the ones under pressure to win the final in front of their fans.

A win for Nigeria against the Ivorian National team will end an 11-year wait for the Super Eagles and take their AFCON title tally to four.
