  • Michael Olise left fans stunned on Wednesday night after he refused to celebrate against Man United.
  • The French youngster scored at stoppage time with a stunning freekick to earn Crystal Palace a precious point.
  • However, rather than join his teammates in celebration, the 21-year-old could be spotted walking back casually.
  • Bruno Fernandes had earlier on in the first opened the scoring for the Red Devils before Olise equalized.

Michael Olise was Crystal Palace's match hero during their Premier League meeting against Man United on Wednesday night.

According to Sportbible, Bruno Fernandes had opened the scoring for the Red Devils shortly before the break at Selhurst Park.

The visitors looked on course to secure a vital win away from home, only for Olise to whip home an incredible free-kick at the death to ensure the two sides share the spoils.

Bizarrely, the Palace ace refused to celebrate even as Selhurst Park broke into celebration and dance.

Why Olise did not celebrate

Interestingly, this was not the first time Olise had refused to celebrate despite scoring an important goal.

The peculiar reaction has been a part of the youngster from his days with Reading.

Back in 2021, his former teammate Michael Morrison gave insights into Olise's reaction when he scores.

"We’d say he’s a bit weird sometimes because when he scored goals, he sometimes wouldn’t celebrate," Morisson told The Athletic.
"We’d be like, ‘Mike, you’ve just scored an important goal and you’re just walking back?’. What’s he doing?
"We never really worked out why. He could never give us an answer but he’s just different; a special player," he added.

Bruno, Antony clash

Earlier, Sports Brief reported emotions ran high during Man United's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after two United players clashed.

The Wednesday night, January 18, encounter was crucial in United's bid to challenge Arsenal and Man City for the Premier League title.

Erik ten Hag's men went into the match on a fine run of results that had seen them stun rivals Man City in their last outing.
