Premier League legend Sergio Aguero has surprisingly included Tottenham Hotspur among the teams that can win the Champions League this season.

Tottenham are among four Premier League teams that will be participating in the competition after finishing in the top four last term.

The north London's return to the competition comes after a two-year hiatus that saw them ply their trade in the Europa League and the Europa Conference League.

Aguero has now listed the Antonio Conte-tutored side as the dark horses to win the Champions League this season.

"Now with Antonio Conte, a coach with a lot of experience, they are managing to be a very solid team. He knows how he wants to play, and his counter-attack can be lethal," Aguero told Stake.

"Tottenham will be a very difficult rival for any team. They could be a big threat in Europe this year," he added.

According to Aguero, his former side - Man City - also stand a chance to cart home the trophy for the first time in their history.

The former Argentine star contends the signing of Erling Haaland gives City a significant edge in the club's continued hunt for European glory.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain and La Liga side Barcelona are the other clubs the legendary striker has backed to challenge for the title this season.
